President of EU parliament visits Egypt
Roberta Metsola, president of the European parliament, was in Cairo on January 8th to hold high-level talks focusing on strengthening the partnership between the EU and Egypt, according to Africa News.
Metsola met with Egypt’s speaker of the house of representatives, Hanafy El Gebaly, and senate president Abdel-Wahab Abdel-Razeq.
According to Egypt’s official government website, “the meeting tackled ways of developing relations between Egypt and the European Union, the spokesman said, adding that the two sides discussed cooperation in economic, investment and trade domains.”
