South Sudan deploys forces along Ugandan border
South Sudan has deployed troops along its border with Uganda as tensions rise over the long-running border dispute.
According to North Africa Post on January 18th, the operation was ordered by the government of Eastern Equatoria, a state in South Sudan, following alleged livestock theft and encroachment by Ugandan forces into South Sudanese territory.
In December, the two countries agreed on resolving the border dispute by 2027, an issue that has its roots in colonial times, according to Eye Radio.
