Hundreds of Sudanese displaced by the civil war are returning to their homes in villages and cities in Al-Gezira state in the centre of the country, and the city of Bahri, north of Khartoum, after the army regained control of the areas from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF militia), reported Middle East Monitor on February 10th.
Sudan’s army has continued to make strong progress in gaining back control of most areas of Al-Gezira and Khartoum states.
The army announced on February 7th that it had taken control of Abu Qota, a city northwest of Al-Gezira, and areas east of the Nile and the Kafouri neighbourhood in the city of Bahri.
