A Moroccan non-governmental organisation expressed rejection of the imposition of French as a language of instruction in schools, calling for an end what it termed as the “Francisation of education”, Middle East Monitor reported, quoting Anadolu, on February 24th.

This came in a statement issued on February 23rd by the National Coalition for the Arabic Language after the ending of its national conference, which began on February 21st in capital Rabat.

The statement urged civil society, particularly groups who play a role in the education sector, to advocate for the Arabic language and oppose the Francisation of education.
