Sudanese military leader proposes plan for elections

General Abdel-Fattah Burhan, has suggested the military has a potential “roadmap” that will involve a constitutional transition, and for free elections to be held in Sudan.

According to AfricaNews on March 5th, the Sudanese military wish to allow for a national dialogue involving all of civil society.

Sudan’s recent civil war first started in 2023, after clashes between the military and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.
