Budget splits South African government
Divisions in the South African coalition government are threatening the passing of the new budget, which has taken over a month to be tabled, according to BBC News on March 13th.
Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana’s budget drew a backlash from various quarters, including a key partner in the coalition government which rejected his proposals for a second time.
The African National Congress (ANC) formed a government of national unity (GNU) with nine other parties after losing its parliamentary majority in elections last year.
