Tunisian religious authorities have said they will not be asking people to refrain from the slaughter of sheep as part of Eid al-Adha sacrifice this year.

According to The New Arab on March 13th, after Morocco cancelled the tradition due to drought and livestock shortages, people questioned whether Tunisia would follow suit.

Tunisia’s Mufti, Sheikh Hichem Ben Mahmoud described the tradition as one of “God’s sacred rites.”
