Trump freezes federal funds to news outlet Voice of America

Federally-funded media is president Trump’s current target for cuts, with funding to Voice of America (VOA) being stripped back after accusations from the president that the outlet is ‘radical’ and ‘anti-Trump’.
A statement from the White House said the order that stripped back funding would “ensure taxpayers are no longer on the hook for radical propaganda”, along with quotes from politicians and media figures describing VOA as “leftist” and “partisan”, reported BBC News.
VOA director Mike Abramowitz said he and almost his entire staff of 1,300 people had been put on paid leave.
