The UK government is pushing to restore a truce in Gaza “as soon as possible” after more than 400 Palestinians were killed when Israel unilaterally ended its truce with Hamas.

According to Middle East Eye, Foreign Secretary David Lammy accused Israel of breaching international law by blocking humanitarian aid for 15 days.

Labour’s stance marks a shift, as it had not previously accused Israel of violating international law. Despite growing criticism, the UK has not committed to sanctioning Israel. Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar has canceled a planned visit to the UK.
