British encouragement to support Moroccan claim over Sahara
Britain has officially welcomed Morocco’s latest endorsement by Israel of Western Sahara.
On Wednesday 19th July, Israel recognised the region of Western Sahara as part of Morocco in a letter to King Mohammed VI, instead of a separate entity – a move welcomed by a leading UK peer.Â
Conservative MP Liam Fox called the decision a “major boost for peace in the Middle East”, according to North Africa Post.
‘The United Kingdom needs to join our allies and take a stand by supporting the Autonomy Plan, which is the only practical way for the region to move forwards,’ he added.
