African leaders have unanimously agreed to deploy more peacekeepers in Somalia in order to combat the terrorist group al-Shabaab, which have been causing chaos in the country.

As reported by the Associated Press, the decision was made during a meeting in the Ugandan capital of Kampala on April 25.

Currently there are at least 10,000 African Union troops deployed in Somalia, with half of them being Ugandan and the rest made up of forces from a range of other African nations across the continent.
