Sudanese return to ruined Khartoum amid lingering fears

Amid tentative calm in Khartoum, some displaced Sudanese are making their return to home only to find war-ravaged neighborhoods with no electricity, running water, or healthcare.
According to The National on May 3rd, survivors describe living in fear under the shadow of looted homes, artillery fire, and harassment at military checkpoints, as the army and RSF continue to battle for control.
Despite recent gains by the army, many say the capital remains too dangerous to bring their families back.
