Morocco is strengthening its defense diplomacy with sub-Saharan Africa in a new military cooperation agreement with Rwanda, signed on June 18, according to the Moroccan outlet Yabiladi.

Morocco’s Minister Delegate in charge of the National Defense Administration and his Rwandan counterpart agreed to hold joint exercises between the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and the Rwandan army, provide logistical support, technical assistance, military healthcare, and the exchange of expertise in areas of mutual interest.

This comes just a day after Morocco signed a similar military cooperation agreement with Ethiopia, even though both Rwanda and Ethiopia maintain recognition of the  Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, which Morocco claims sovereignty over.
