Israeli experts: Hamas used sexual violence to conduct genocide

A group of Israeli legal and gender experts have claimed that Hamas used sexual violence as part of its “genocidal strategy” for a 2023 assault on Israel, the BBC reported on July 8th.

The Dinah Project said its findings are based on an evaluation of evidence such as accounts from an attempted rape victim as well as 15 ex-Gaza captives. The findings were also gathered from testimonies from those who saw sexual assaults taking place.

The group described its findings as “a legal blueprint for prosecuting these crimes, even when direct attribution to individual perpetrators is impossible.”
