Syria: Almost 300 suspects identified in sectarian killings

A Syrian committee said on July 22nd that it had identified 298 suspects which are implicated in grave violations during sectarian clashes that caused at least 1,426 members of the Alawite community to die, according to The New Arab via AFP.
The identifications comes following recent clashes involving Syria’s Druze community, which begs the question as to whether the Syrian government is managing to tackle sectarian conflict and maintain stability after the fall from power of Syria’s former leader, Bashar al-Assad.
An investigation identified 298 people “by name” who were alleged to have been involved in the violations, but the number is reportedly provisional.
