Bouhali lives in the 50 Logements neighbourhood in the commune of Oum Drou, Chlef Province, in the north of Algeria. She has been missing since 27th July. Security services are actively searching for her.

The Chlef Provincial Police have issued a missing person’s notice for the young girl on social media. The search has been entrusted to the police’s Juvenile Protection Brigade.

“As part of police operations relating to the search for missing persons, and under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office, the Chlef Provincial Police, represented by the Vulnerable Persons Protection Brigade of the Criminal Investigation Department, announce the disappearance of a minor named Marwa Bouhali, aged 17, resident of the 50 Logements neighbourhood of the commune of Oum Drou in Chlef,” the statement said.

Authorities have highlighted the importance of community involvement in such cases, stressing that public awareness and vigilance are essential. At the end of May, another young girl, Marwa Boughachiche, aged 12, went missing in Constantine, northeastern Algeria. Her body was found a few days later in the Djebel Ouahch forest in the same province, a case the deeply unsettled the public and has renewed calls for heightened child protection measures as well as rapid, coordinated responses to the disappearance of minors.

In this new case, the authorities are hoping that raising public awareness will help find Bouhali safe and well. Investigators have reminded the public that swift action, collective vigilance and national solidarity are crucial in such situations.
