Israel besieges two more Gaza hospitals, two dead

Israeli forces besieged two more Gaza hospitals — Al-Amal and Nasser — on March 24th, using heavy gunfire and forcing the evacuation of patients and displaced people sheltering there, according to the Arab Weekly and agencies.

The Israel Defence Forces insist that Gaza hospitals are being used as Hamas strongholds. Both Hamas and medical staff deny this.

All those evacuated had been moved westwards to Al Mawasi, a coastal beach settlement. Some hospital staff stayed behind to ensure that its patients in critical condition were especially cared for. 

The Palestinian Red Crescent shared that a member of its staff and displaced Palestinian were killed, as well as several injured. “All of our teams are in extreme danger at the moment and are completely immobilised,” they said in a statement.
