Israelis take to the streets over Netanyahu’s plan for Gaza war

Thousands of people demonstrated in Tel Aviv on August 9th to stand out against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s intention of escalating the Gaza conflict, according to The Guardian via Reuters.

On August 8th, Netanyahu’s office announced that the security cabinet had come to the decision to take over Gaza City.

The plan would see widening military activity in the territory in spite of extensive opposition to the plan and the military raising concerns that it could worsen the conditions for captives. Organisers have said that the demonstration had over 100,000 attendees.
