Most Palestinians in Gaza, 77%, are without basic relief items, the international NGO ActionAid said on January 1st.

The director of support and advocacy at ActionAid, Reham Al-Jafari, told Voice of Palestine on January 1st that the last three months have been the toughest for Palestinians, due to Israel restricting relief supplies, the fall of the healthcare sector, a far-reaching hunger crisis and the breakout of disease, according to The New Arab.

Al-Jafari’s comments come after ActionAids continuous efforts to protect Gaza’s most critical sectors, which are reportedly on the verge of collapsing.

The NGO has also alleged that Israeli authorities are imposing restrictions which have held up aid deliveries and caused an upsurge in food costs.
