Israel eyes actions to legalize Trump’s Gaza plan

Despite the increasing sentiment that US President Donald Trump’s plan to move 1.8 million Palestinians from the Gaza Strip is impractical, officials in Israel are looking to create plans and implement actions that will legalize it and ultimately make it take place, Asharq Al-Awsat reported on February 10th.
The army has started creating a plan for the voluntary withdrawal of Palestinians from Gaza, at the Israeli cabinet’s request. The plan will include exit options through land crossings and special arrangements to leave by the sea through the Ashdod Bahri port and by air through Ramon Airport.
The army will also create measures to ensure the departure of Palestinians by “prohibiting the return of those who do not sign a pledge to reject terrorism.”
