Al-Sharaa: Trump’s Gaza plan is a “serious crime” that will fail

Syria’s president, Ahmed al-Sharaa, said in comments broadcasted on February 10th that he thinks US President Donald Trump’s intentions to relocate Palestinians from Gaza and take control of the the strip “is a serious crime that will ultimately fail,” according to The New Arab via Reuters.

Trump had said the US would take the war-torn Gaza strip and develop it within an economical realm, after the Palestinians have been resettled.

Trump said Palestinians do not have the right to go back to Gaza, under his plan. During an interview with a UK podcast, al-Sharaa said that Trump’s plan will not be a success. Al-Sharaa added: “I believe no power can drive people from their land. Many countries have tried to do it and they have all failed, especially during the recent war in Gaza over the past year and a half.”
