Gaza groups poised to free three hostages, Hamas says

Palestinian groups in Gaza will free three hostages on February 15th, under the terms of the ceasefire, including US-Israeli Sagui Dekel-Chen, according to a Hamas official, Asharq Al-Awsat via Reuters reported on February 14th.

The Islamic Jihad group have said that Russian-Israeli Alexandre Sasha Troufanov would be freed as part of the deal.

The announcement follows days of uncertainty about whether the ceasefire which was made in January would be maintained. The announcement also came after extensive efforts by Egyptian and Qatari mediators to maintain that January’s US-backed agreement is on target.
