Three officers from the Assad regime who were allegedly involved in the April 2013 Tadamon massacre have been arrested by Syrian security forces, The New Arab reported on February 17th.

Taking place in the Damascus suburb, Tadamon, the massacre was discovered in 2022 by Syrian researchers. According to an estimate, 288 people were executed by members of the National Defence Forces (NDF) militia of the regime.

Some estimates imply that more than 500 people were killed in 2013 in the area and in further massacres. Sources told The New Arab’s sister title, Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, that a security operation led by Syrian authorities was targeting members of the previous regime in southern Damascus.
