Hamas hands over bodies of hostages

Hamas has handed over the bodies of four Gaza hostages, including the Israeli infant Kfir Bibas and his four-year-old brother Ariel, who are the youngest people to be taken captive in the attack of October 7th 2023, Asharq Al-Awsat via Reuters reported on February 20th.

Hamas released the bodies of the boys and their mother Shiri Bibas as well as another hostage, Oded Lifschitz, under the Gaza ceasefire agreement which was made in January with the support of the US and Qatar and Egypt’s intervention.

In a short video statement, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that this would mark “a very difficult day for the state of Israel. An upsetting day, a day of grief.”
