Australian Islamic State member found in Syrian prison

A previously missing Australian member of Islamic state who was wounded in the group’s last battle has been found alive, in custody in a northeastern Syrian prison, The Guardian reported on February 21st.
Aged 41, Mustafa Hajj-Obeid is one of a group of accused members of IS who lost their Australian citizenship only to have it reinstated in 2022 following a legal challenge, has been reported missing for the last six years since the military loss of IS.
During a visit to Panorama prison, a detention centre for alleged IS members, which is led by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), The Guardian had seen Hajj-Obeid clad in a brown jumpsuit, with a shaved head.
