A total of 52 students from Gaza are poised to arrive in Ireland to start university scholarships which have been authorised by academic institutions, Middle East Eye via AFP reported on August 28th.

The first 26 Palestinian students from Gaza are to arrive on August 28th, while the rest will arrive in the country on August 29th and the 31st.

Irish Foreign Minister Simon Harris told AFP that he welcomes the Palestinians “and wish[es] them every success with their studies.” Over 200 Gazans have been supported by Ireland to leave the territory and relocate to the European country during Israel’s war on the enclave.
