Health ministry says death toll in Gaza exceeds 64,700

Hospitals in Gaza have recorded 72 Palestinians being killed alongside 356 suffering injuries in a 24-hour period, according to the territory’s health ministry, Middle East Eye reported on September 11th.

The new recorded deaths means that 64,718 people have been killed and at least 163,859 others have sustained wounds, since Israel started its war on Gaza on October 7th 2023.

In just one day, seven Palestinians including a child died as a result of starvation, highlighting the worsening humanitarian crisis. Meanwhile, on September 8th, Palestinians took to the streets in Gaza City over Israel’s expulsion orders, in a bid to challenge forced displacement.
