Syrian forces dismantle Hezbollah-tied cell

Syria has announced on September 11th that a Hezbollah-linked cell has been dismantled by the country’s forces, with investigations revealing that cell members were trained in military camps in Lebanon, according to The New Arab via AFP.
According to the interior ministry, “[s]pecialised units in cooperation with the general intelligence service… were able to arrest a terrorist cell belonging to the Hezbollah militia that was active” in the countryside of the Syrian capital of Damascus.
The statement added that initial investigations also revealed that cell members were intending to conduct operations in Syria which endanger “national security and stability.”
