Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, signed the E1 settlement plan, which enables a major expansion of Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank, as covered by Maghrebi Week on September 22nd.

At a ceremony in the Israeli settlement of Maale Adumim, the prime minister said: “We said that there would not be a Palestinian state—and indeed, there will not be a Palestinian state.”

The plan which will see the construction of more than 3,400 settler units, had been given the green light by the Israeli Civil Administration in August.
