UN chief Antonio Guterres called for the inflow of weapons which are facilitating war in Sudan to stop, as leaders met in Ethiopia to engage in talks about the crisis in Sudan, The New Arab and agencies reported on February 14th.

In the meeting on the sidelines of the African Union summit, located in Addis Ababa, Guterres said: “Civilians must be protected, safe humanitarian access must be facilitated and the flow of weapons must stop.”

Guterres said the Sudan conflict in Sudan which has killed tens of thousands of people and displaced more than 12 million since it started in April 2023, was an “unprecedented humanitarian crisis on the African continent.”
