Palestinians stranded as Israel shuts West Bank-Jordan crossing

Israel closed the Allenby Bridge crossing, the only global crossing linking the West Bank to Jordan, leaving more than two million Palestinians unable to travel abroad or return home, as reported in Maghrebi Week on September 29th.
The shutdown, followed the killing of two Israeli military personnel near the crossing, by a gunman from Jordan who was later killed.
The closure has disrupted travel for the Palestinian people, affecting work, education, and family visits. Although the bridge temporarily reopened, the closure left many stranded and uncertain about when they will be able to cross again.
