Investigation into African Ambassador death still ongoing

It had been reported on October 11 that no foul play as of yet had been found in the death of South African Ambassador Nathi Mthethwa.
According to Africa news and AP, French investigators are still looking closely into the death.
Mthethwa was found in his hotel room in Paris on September 30th. His 22nd-floor window, had been forced open, but there were no signs of foul play.
According to the prosecutor’s office in Paris, Mthethwa’s wife notified the police that her husband had gone missing and that she received “a worrying message from him”
The message suggested to his wife a suicidal intent; however, the family are not accepting this explanation and thinks otherwise.
Nathi Mthethwa was a French ambassador and a senior member of the African National Congress. The Congress was famous for being the political party that brought an end to South African apartheid in 1994.
Ronald Lamola, South Africa’s foreign minister, said in a statement that “I have no doubt that his passing is not only a national loss, but is also felt within the international diplomatic community.”
The political party that brought an end to apartheid, the same party Mthethwa stood beside, is currently fighting the apartheid history, infrastructures and law.
With this fight to bring change into South Africa, they have had many changes in men being able to take their wives’ surnames as of from September.
Mthethwa had been an ambassador for South Africa since late 2023 and had served in many cabinet roles, including the arts, culture and sports sector.
Investigations are still ongoing, and a five-member team from South Africa has been sent to France to assist with the ongoing investigation.
It had been reported that President Cyril Ramaphosa will be delivering a eulogy at Mthethwa’s funeral on Sunday.
