US envoy Steve Witkoff will not leave Middle East role

The US envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, has dismissed claims that he is leaving President Donald Trump’s administration, as reported by Middle East Eye plus agencies on October 15th.

This is despite claims coming from two sources familiar with the subject that Witkoff planned to leave the administration after the Gaza peace deal had been reached.

On X, Witkoff called the claims “100 per cent Fake News” and reaffirmed his willingness to continue working towards the pursuit of peace between Israel and Hamas.
