UK planning officers to oversee progress of Gaza ceasefire

A group of planning officers from the UK have been dispatched to Israel to work with a US-led unit responsible for overseeing the progress of the Gaza ceasefire, the BBC via Reuters reported on October 21st.

Known as the civil military coordination centre, the taskforce is reportedly likely to include soldiers from Qatar, Turkey, Egypt as well as the UAE, according to American officials.

The US Central Command (Centcom) would be leading the taskforce, which will also be responsible for organising humanitarian support.
