Moroccan singer appeals 6 year jail term for rape in France
Disgraced Moroccan singer Saad Lamjarred has appealed his six-year prison sentence that he was issued last week by a Paris court under charges of aggravated rape and assault.
According to a statement from his defense to AFP, Lamjarred continues to “maintain his innocence, and that is why he is appealing the verdict.”
The singer’s defence team want his imprisonment revoked, claiming that it was “not justified because he had always adhered to parol he was under.”
The singer also has three other rape cases against him pending in the US, Morocco and a third one in France.
