Morocco to host IMF-World Bank meetings despite earthquake

Morocco’s government is adamant the IMF-World Bank meetings should go ahead in Marrakech despite the recent earthquake, reports Middle East Online and agencies, September 12. 

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) World Bank meetings are expected to take place from October 9 to 15 of this year in Marrakech. 

A source close to the Moroccan government stated, “From the viewpoint of the Moroccan authorities, the annual meetings of the IMF and World Bank will take place as scheduled: October 9-15, 2023. There is no change of plan as of now.”. 

The meetings with the IMF and the World Bank occur on a yearly basis.
