Tunisia: body rejects monitoring groups due to ‘foreign funds’

On September 11th, the Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE) rejected requests from civil society organizations to monitor the presidential elections on October 6th, as reported by The New Arab and agencies.

It was alleged that these groups received foreign funds from ‘suspicious origins.’

Specifically, I-Watch and Mourakiboun were named in these accusations.
