Algeria bans Mali from their airspace

Algeria has suspended all flights from Mali arriving into the country as well as banning departures after several violations of their airspace, according to Africa News on April 8th.

Tensions continue to rise between the two countries following a number of Malian aircraft being shot down by Algeria.

Algeria claims it is responding in order to protect their sovereignty.
