Israeli minister leads storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque

Israel’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir led 1,300 Israelis on an incursion into Al-Aqsa Mosque on October 8th, according to the Middle East Eye via Wafa news agency.

Al-Aqsa Mosque is widely recognised as an exclusively Islamic site, meaning that Israeli Jews entering and praying at the mosque are effectively violating the rights of Muslims to worship freely.

The mosque has increasingly been under threat by Israeli settlers, with some believing the mosque must be destroyed, with a Jewish temple built in its place.
