Sudan: Nearly 1000 displaced in a day as Darfur crisis worsens

Worsening insecurity in Sudan’s North Darfur has forced an estimated 970 people to flee a village in the Umm Baru locality, as reported by the Middle East Monitor via Anadolu on November 2nd.

According to the UN-backed International Organisation for Migration (IOM), the people fled the area, located around 300 kilometres northwest of the besieged city of El-Fasher, on November 1st amid escalating violence.

The agency reported on November 2nd that displaced people moved to various locations within Umm Baru, where the situation remains tense.
