Egyptian FM backs unification of political rivals in Libya
Foreign Minister of Egypt, Badr Abdelatty, gave an official statement reaffirming his support for unity and sovereignty between the rival governments in Libya, the Libya Gazette wrote on 24th November.
During a meeting in Cairo with Chad’s Foreign Minister, Abderrahman Abdel Fadil, Abdelatty gave his support to initiatives aiming at unifying the Libyan government and bringing the country closer to parliamentary elections.
While Abdelatty expressed optimistic assertions about peace in Libya, the constant friction between the two governments casts doubts on whether an agreement can be brokered or not.
