Algeria and Egypt announce new trade deals

Egypt and Algeria have announced plans to increase their bilateral trade to $5 billion, it was revealed at the 9th session of the Algeria-Egypt Joint High Commission in Cairo, according to Algerian government-friendly AL24 News on November 27th.

Algeria’s Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb and the Egyptian counterpart Mostafa Madbouly were attending the commission, where 18 agreements were signed to strengthen relations between both countries, covering a variety of topics such as civil service, education and housing.

The two nations also discussed instability in Libya, following a recent trilateral meeting with Tunisia, as well as the war on Gaza, with both pushing for a ceasefire and the reconstruction of the devastated enclave.
