Sudan’s military chief urges Trump to end civil war
Sudan’s military chief, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, called on US President Donald Trump to put an end to Sudan’s civil war, according to the Libya Gazette and Maghrebi Week on December 1st.
Al-Burhan, who is also Sudan’s de facto leader, wrote in an op-ed for the Wall Street Journal on November 25th that “the Sudanese people now look to Washington to take the next step: to build on the US President’s honesty and work with us… to end this war.”
The war in Sudan has raged on since April 2023 between the national military and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.
