Morocco: Clashes in Casablanca after migrant-related attacks
Injuries were reported following an incident in Ouled Ziane, Casablanca, during which undocumented migrants reportedly damaged public property and attacked people with stones and knives, according to the Moroccan-friendly outlet Hespress on 8th December.
The neighbourhood of Ouled Ziane has increasingly become a gathering point for groups involved in criminal activity, raising concerns among residents. They report a growing sense of insecurity, noting that migrants have been occupying parks and other public spaces.
It is not the first report of violence, after two were killed in September 2025, amid a crackdown by the Moroccan authorities against migrants trying to reach Europe through the Mediterranean Sea.
