Israeli settler march sees Palestinian areas shut down
Israeli settlers staged a march along a bypass road east of Hebron within the Occupied West Bank, leading Israeli forces to block Palestinian residents from entering their neighbourhoods, as reported by the Middle East Eye via Wafa news agency on December 14th.
These marches receive protection from the Israeli authorities, who frequently close areas of Hebron’s Old City to Palestinians under the guise of protecting Jewish celebrations.
Hebron’s Ibrahimi Mosque, considered a holy place in Islam, has also previously faced closure by Israeli forces, which violates the rights of Muslim worshippers to pray freely.
