StarzPlay tops 2025 MENA streaming rankings
StarzPlay has been ranked the ‘most positively spoken about streaming service’ in the Middle East and North Africa, as reported by Broadcast Pro via the MENA Streaming Services Flash Report 2025 by DataEQ on November 5th.
The report analysed more than 109,000 public online conversations across 17 countries, identifying viewers’ opinions about major streaming platforms.
StarzPlay topped the charts with a Net Sentiment score of +22%, positioning itself ahead of local and global competitors such as Shahid and Netflix.

The report evaluated consumers’ opinions across areas such as content quality, platform reliability, marketing effectiveness, sports coverage and payment experience.
Users appreciated StarzPlay for its wide range of international collection, growing library of Arabic originals and uninterrupted live-streaming during major sports events.
Maaz Sheikh, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of StarzPlay, said, “This recognition is a testament to our continued focus on delivering value to our subscribers through world-class streaming quality, culturally relevant entertainment, and an easy-to-navigate user experience.”
As a local MENA streaming platform, StarzPlay’s demand arises from its focus on regional viewers and consistent delivery of reliable streaming services. Turkish and Arabic shows were among the biggest drivers of positive engagement.
The platform’s reliability during live sports streaming, including UFC, Serie A and ICC cricket, also played a major part in its strong performance in the analysis.
DataEQ’s report puts StarzPlay ahead in overall customer satisfaction, due to its mix of technology investment and locally resonant programming.
Recent updates, such as AI-powered recommendations and improved content discovery, have further enhanced its reputation among users.
With its presence in 20 countries, StarzPlay continues to expand through new sports rights, original productions and partnerships.
The report highlighted that StarzPlay’s steady focus on content quality and user trust has pushed the UAE-based platform to establish its place as a major player in MENA’s fast-growing streaming market.
