Israel: vote on death penalty bill for prisoners draws nearer
The Israeli Knesset will vote on November 10th in the first reading of a bill that will impose execution on Palestinian prisoners, according to the Middle East Eye via Israel Hayom.
The proposed law, if given the green light, would apply to Palestinians convicted of killing Israelis on “nationalistic grounds”, but would not apply to Israelis convicted of similar crimes.
National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir has advocated for the bill, which was pushed through the National Security Committee of the Knesset on November 3rd.
