Moroccan NGO demands an end to land spoliation
The Association for Law and Justice in Morocco (ADJM) has demanded that land spoliation (illegal or unfair loss of property) be stopped, as many Moroccans, especially those abroad, are affected by it, according to Maghrebi Week on December 1.
The victims are lured using a “proxy model” by signing the power of attorney and handing over land without their knowledge. Many cases remain unresolved, and the system of corruption continues.
The ADJM has requested that the government enact stricter laws and provide legal assistance for victims, signalling this matter as one of national importance.
