Rwanda-DRC peace agreement signed in Washington

Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame and his Congolese counterpart Felix Tshisekedi met in Washington on December 4th to sign a peace agreement, according to a report from RFI.

But experts remain skeptical about the possibility of long-term peace, with there being reports of violence in South Kivu province.

Both countries signed bilateral agreements with the US, opening new business opportunities for American companies and giving them access to the natural resources at the very core of this conflict.
