Israeli defence minister: army will remain in Gaza

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has announced that the Israeli army will not fully withdraw from the Gaza Strip, according to a report by Al-Monitor via Reuters on December 23rd.

In a speech, Katz stated, “We are located deep inside Gaza, and we will never leave all of Gaza. There will never be such a thing.”

The US-backed ceasefire, which came into effect on October 10th, has been violated by Israel numerous times; over 380 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli attacks since October 10th.
